The Russian attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure on October 8 left most of Kyiv without power, with the metro shut down due to a lack of electricity and water scarce, according to the Kyiv Independent.
Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal confirmed the attack on an energy facility important for Kyiv and said crews are trying to restore power. Drone strikes on October 8 killed four people and injured at least 19 in Kyiv, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. According to Le Monde, 78 people were killed and 215 wounded on October 7 and 8 alone.
