The United Nations (UN) Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2830, extending the arms embargo in Darfur until December 11, to allow more time for negotiations.

The text also extended the mandate of the panel of experts monitoring the sanctions until January 11, 2027. A United States proposal to widen the embargo to the entire Sudanese territory was not approved, after opposition from Russia and China, according to Al Jazeera.
