The Deir Ali, Nasiriyah and Tishreen power plants went out of service after an explosion on a gas line at the Tishreen thermal power plant, according to the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The shutdown of the three plants will temporarily reduce electricity generation and increase power rationing hours. A gas pipeline in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor, which borders Iraq, exploded and caught fire after an isolation valve blast, interrupting gas flows to power stations, in an incident Syrian authorities attribute to sabotage, according to The National.
