US secretary of state Marco Rubio said that a foreign actor was involved in the suspected bomb plot at the Royal Air Force (RAF) base at Fairford in the United Kingdom, hours after the five suspects arrested close to the airbase were released on bail, but provided no evidence for his claims, according to The Guardian.

After the suspects' release, it emerged that no explosive material had been found.
