Israeli opposition leaders demanded a criminal investigation into Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after his former military secretary, Avi Gil, said in an interview that the Prime Minister’s Office tampered with records from the day of the attack.
According to Gil, Netanyahu’s chief of staff sought to have a 6:40 a.m. call recorded as having been made at 6:29 a.m., the minute the attack began. The former adviser also accused Netanyahu of prioritising his political survival over a deal that would free the captives.
