Federal prosecutors in the US are expected to bring new charges against Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, for allegedly torturing Americans, according to CBS News.
The charges involve the torture of more than a dozen Americans wrongfully detained under Maduro's government, and additional people may be charged, according to the BBC, in a text citing CBS. Lawyers for Flores, 69, argued that she has medical issues that cannot be treated effectively in jail and that she could instead live under 24-hour guard, according to the Associated Press, in a text published by WPXI.
