Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the CHPP-5 plant in Kharkiv was struck shortly after the announcement of an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine by US President Donald Trump.

According to Ukraine’s Presidential Office, the attack occurred after Trump announced the ceasefire in a Truth Social post, in which he wrote that the energy ceasefire was effective “immediately”. Zelenskyy said the strike happened “just now”.
