Brazil holds on Sunday the first round of its presidential election, with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, seeking a fourth term, facing Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, as polls point to a likely runoff, according to DW. The first round of the general elections decides the president, governors, the Chamber of Deputies, one third of the Senate and regional assemblies, according to the Mehr News Agency.

If no candidate for executive office wins an absolute majority, the runoff will be held on October 25, according to the same agency.
