Flávio Bolsonaro finished the first round ahead of Lula with 56,104,503 votes (47.03%), against 53,879,538 (45.16%), a difference of nearly 2.225 million votes, according to TASS.
With neither candidate reaching 50%, the election goes to a second round on October 25, The Hindu reported.
