In an interview with the Haredi site Hashtiblach on Monday, Israeli minister Bezalel Smotrich said Israel would destroy Sinai if Egypt attacked Israel, according to The Jerusalem Post.

Egyptian presenters responded with threats against Tel Aviv, Ben-Gurion Airport and Netanyahu. Journalist Ahmed Moussa said all 120 million Egyptians would die defending Egypt. There was no immediate official response from the Egyptian authorities, only reactions from journalists, lawmakers and influencers close to the authorities, according to the Middle East Monitor.
