The French foreign ministry summoned Iran’s ambassador on Wednesday over a disinformation campaign targeting France’s student protest movement, according to France24.
Ministry spokesperson Pascal Confavreux said the misleading content disseminated by official Iranian ministry accounts was absolutely unacceptable and that the provocations had to stop. On Tuesday, Tehran had summoned France’s envoy in Tehran over what it called the violent treatment of demonstrators, according to Reuters, in a text republished by the Jerusalem Post.
