Lula's campaign accused Meta of restricting content distribution, including by preventing the promotion of Instagram feed posts and with an interruption in view counts, according to France24, which cites Agence France-Presse (AFP).
The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) gave Meta 48 hours to clarify whether it reduced the reach of posts and to explain the reported irregularities, while Meta's Brazil office denied the charges, calling them “simply false”. Lula faces the October 25 runoff against Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro.
