European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen promised that the European Union (EU) will provide additional funding this week for Ukraine to purchase drones and missiles, following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to The New Voice of Ukraine, which reports that Ukraine received an additional €1.24 billion on October 7 under the Ukraine Support Loan program, dedicated to Ukrainian-made drones and missiles.

Von der Leyen said that Ukraine will be front and center at this week’s European Council, with discussion of next year’s funding needs, according to TASS.
