North Korea fired multiple ballistic missiles from the Pyongyang area toward the East Sea, according to South Koreaʼs Joint Chiefs of Staff, cited by France24, and Japanʼs Defence Ministry separately confirmed the launch of at least one suspected ballistic missile.

The South Korean body did not immediately say whether the weapon was ballistic or how far it flew, according to The Hindu.
