Iran’s Foreign Ministry summoned the British ambassador in Tehran over accusations by the British prime minister that it considers baseless, according to the Iranian agency Mehr News.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi met Hugo Shorter at the ministry on Thursday to convey the protest, and Tehran rejected as “baseless and unfounded” the British claims linking the country to an alleged sabotage plot at Fairford military base, demanding an official explanation.
