The UK government has announced that the pilot “one in, one out” agreement with France to send back some migrants who cross the Channel has been scrapped.

A pilot programme between the UK and France that aimed to curb the number of people crossing the English Channel in small boats to migrate to Britain has been scrapped, Britain’s government said on Wednesday. A spokesperson for the UK Home Office said the pilot with France to remove asylum seekers in exchange for an equal number of legal migrants is no longer processing new cases.
