Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited the PTI, Imran Khan's party, for talks on Tuesday and urged it to call off its long march to Islamabad.

The PTI launched the march two days earlier from Lakki Marwat in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to demand Khan's release; he has been in jail since August 2023. A second round of talks had collapsed on October 4 over the impasse on access to Khan.
