The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and head of the Supreme Fatwa Council, Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, issued a fatwa on Tuesday banning the purchase of olive products from settlers, in response to escalating settler violence, especially against olive trees this harvest season, his office said.

Under the ruling, it is forbidden to buy olive products “stolen from Palestinian trees and sold by [settlers], due to the great evils involved.”
