Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to jurist Navanethem Pillay, saying the prize legitimizes “hatred and anti-Israel prejudice.” In a statement, the ministry said granting the Nobel to Pillay, who chaired the committee that accused Israel of genocide, is “the grotesque instrumentalization of a prize.”
