The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, expressed concern over the continuing impact of Israeli military operations on civilians in southern Syria, including raids on homes, restrictions on movement, harassment, arbitrary detention and destruction of livelihoods.

The UN office continues to document the detention of Syrians by Israeli forces and said 49 Syrians remain in Israeli custody, a total it has not independently and comprehensively verified. According to Middle East Eye, Israel carried out 280 armed incursions into Syria in September, the highest monthly number of the year.
