Russian airstrikes killed a child and injured five people in Kyiv and the surrounding region early on Wednesday, according to officials cited by Reuters.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said fires hit houses, a store and a warehouse in the capital, leaving two people injured. Ballistic missiles struck Kyiv overnight and disrupted electricity in parts of the city, according to the Kyiv Independent.
