Papal envoy Cardinal Matteo Zuppi discussed humanitarian issues in the Ukraine war in talks with Russian officials and visited Ukrainian prisoners of war, Russia's Foreign Ministry said, according to Reuters, in a text republished by KFGO.

Zuppi met Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov and addressed prospects for a settlement, prisoner exchanges and displaced children. This was his third visit to Moscow since 2023, and he told TASS his primary mission is to help find solutions to humanitarian issues.
