The city of Taiz is under houthi siege again, after the group captured the town of al-Turbah by October 4, severing the only remaining main road between Taiz city and other government-held areas, according to Al Jazeera.

In early September, the Houthis launched an offensive along the Red Sea coast of Taiz governorate, according to Al Jazeera. Residents are stocking up on water and other essentials, fearful of shortages as food and fuel prices rise under the new siege.
