Russia hit at least six energy targets during a night and morning of deadly airstrikes across Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Monday, according to Reuters, adding this showed Moscow had no interest in an energy ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump.

Trump declared over the weekend, blindsiding Kyiv and its European allies, that Ukraine and Russia had agreed not to hit each other’s energy systems. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said talks were ongoing about a possible energy ceasefire and that further information would be revealed in due course, but he rejected Zelenskyy’s proposal for a full 60-day truce.
