US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Wednesday a 20% cut in the positions of generals and admirals by January 1, 2027 and the creation of a new four-star command to expand drone, autonomous and robotic warfare, according to India Today.

Reuters had reported he was set to make the announcement when he spoke with hundreds of junior service members at Quantico, Virginia.
