The UN human rights office urged Washington on Thursday (October 1, 2026) to ensure full reparations for people affected by U.S. nuclear tests in the Marshall Islands, according to The Hindu.
The archipelago hosted 67 U.S. nuclear tests between 1946 and 1958, whose environmental and health impacts persist, and the local Nuclear Claims Tribunal set the total compensation to be paid at more than $2.3 billion.
