Nepal suspended all non-essential search and rescue operations 40 days after the August 26 Bhotekoshi-Trishuli floods, according to the Times of India, and is shifting to reconstruction.
The official toll is 1,455 dead and 5,285 missing, including 189 Indians. The council recommended that the finance ministry approve 559 billion Nepalese rupees for 504 reconstruction and rehabilitation programmes.
