El Al canceled two rescue flights scheduled for Friday (LY974-1, LY972) because Israeli airlines’ landing permits were revoked, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) did not grant landing permission for the two special flights meant to bring stranded Israelis home.

The rescue flights were organized after the UAE canceled all flights to Israel, following an attack by a copilot on a flydubai route to Ben Gurion Airport on Wednesday, according to The Times of Israel.
