Navanethem “Navi” Pillay, 85, a former UN human rights chief and a judge on the International Court of Justice, won the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, according to The Guardian.
The Norwegian committee recognised her for efforts to promote peace and international law, said Jørgen Watne Frydnes, chair of the committee. This year's prize drew 287 nominations and pays 12 million Swedish kronor, about $1.2 million.
