A 20-year-old American Marine stationed in Okinawa was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of robbing and murdering a local woman, according to the Times of India.

The suspicion involves the death of 39-year-old Anna Yagi and the theft of a wallet and a backpack at a hotel in Naha in the early hours of Saturday. Japan’s foreign ministry said it would lodge a protest with US ambassador George Glass.
