Yemen’s internationally recognised, Saudi-backed government alleged that the Houthis, backed by Tehran, have modified Iranian air defence weapons into loitering cruise missiles with the assistance of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to Al Jazeera.

Iranian authorities have not commented on details of the allegations but have broadly denied directing the Houthis, stressing the Yemeni group’s independence. President Masoud Pezeshkian rejected a connection between Iran and Houthi actions in an interview with Al Jazeera and urged Saudi Arabia and the Houthis to negotiate.
