Polls closed in Brazil on Sunday, with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva seeking a fourth non-consecutive term and Flávio Bolsonaro running for the Bolsonarist camp, according to Deutsche Welle.

With 10% of the ballots processed, Flávio Bolsonaro had 51% of the vote and Lula 40.8%, according to the electoral court, as reported by Deutsche Welle. A victory for Bolsonaro would extend a wave of wins across Latin America by right-wing candidates aligned with US President Donald Trump, while Lula’s re-election would create problems for Washington, according to the BBC.
