China and Laos inaugurated a joint support and training centre at Ban Keun airport, about 50 kilometres northwest of the Lao capital Vientiane, according to VOA News.

Satellite imagery from September 30 showed eight aircraft and more than 20 military vehicles at the site, according to a Reuters report cited by VOA News. China’s Defence Ministry says the centre is intended to help Laos strengthen the training of air force pilots.
