Iran's mission to the United Nations said the Iranian delegation left New York on Monday evening, in accordance with a schedule communicated in advance to the US Department of State on September 17.

The statement contrasts with the account of two US officials who said Secretary of State Marco Rubio lost patience and told the Iranians on Monday that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his delegation had to leave New York immediately.
