The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said hospitals across Yemen are struggling to treat a sharp rise in people wounded along several front lines.
Front-line hospitals in Marib, Taiz and on Yemen's Red Sea coast saw unprecedented numbers of weapon-wounded patients, with some admitting more than 700 casualties in a single week, according to the ICRC, in an Al-Monitor report based on Reuters. The fighting pits the Iran-backed Houthis against Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces. More than 200,000 people have been displaced since the fighting resumed in recent weeks, according to the UN's International Organization for Migration (IOM).
