US President Donald Trump approved the execution by firing squad of Nidal Hasan, an Army psychiatrist who shot dead 13 people at a military base in 2009, according to the Pentagon, Le Monde reported. Hasan fatally shot 13 unarmed soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009 and injured another 32, according to the BBC.

The Secretary of the Army will set the time and place of the execution.
