More than 400 people, mostly minors, were detained on Tuesday over student protests at high schools across France, the French interior minister said, according to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
At least 400 schools were affected, with blockades driven by overcrowded classes and teacher shortages. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez spoke of 440 people detained, with two thirds taken into police custody.
