German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said on Monday that the country faces a “shadow war” more far-reaching than the Cold War, according to Reuters, in a text republished by The Straits Times.
The shadow war’s objective extends far beyond anything seen during the Cold War, he said. The president of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency (BfV), Sinan Selen, said Russia employs virtually every tool in its hybrid operations, from disinformation campaigns and information manipulation to sabotage and assassination plots prepared in Germany.
