The UN Security Council extended the mandate of the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) in Haiti until March 31, 2027, in Tuesday's vote, according to Al Jazeera.

China, Russia and Pakistan abstained, citing concerns over the measure's effectiveness. US ambassador to the UN, Waltz, said that about 1,500 GSF troops are currently operating in Haiti and the remaining 4,000 are expected to arrive in the coming months.
