Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Alexus Grynkewich said the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is deliberately ambiguous about what would trigger Article 5, in an interview with Poland’s TVP World, according to TASS.

According to him, the alliance could also invoke “other articles” if needed, including Article 4, which calls for consultations within the NATO Council if a member state believes its security is under threat.
