Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said that Russia does not trust Japan’s promises to remove US missile systems after the joint military drills are over and warned that such actions will not go unanswered, according to TASS.

In an interview with the Izvestia daily, Rudenko said the Japanese authorities promised that the missiles would supposedly be removed after the drills ended. According to earlier reports, US forces were set to deploy on Kyushu Typhon ground-based systems, designed to launch intermediate- and shorter-range missiles, along with HIMARS launchers, during drills held from June to September.
