An Italian court convicted three Egyptian security officials over the kidnapping of student Giulio Regeni, according to Al Jazeera.

On Monday, the three were sentenced to 10 years in prison for aggravated kidnapping and a fourth defendant was acquitted. A judge said Major Magdi Sharif, from Egypt's General Intelligence, police Colonel Hisham Helmy and Colonel Ather Kamal were guilty of the aggravated kidnapping of Regeni, according to Reuters, in a text republished by Internazionale.
