London's Metropolitan Police confirmed it is leading the investigation into an incident overnight near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, with five men arrested on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act, according to Le Monde.

The five were initially arrested on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act near an air base in southwestern England used by the US Air Force. RAF Fairford is also being used by the US for strikes on Iranian missile sites targeting ships in the Strait of Hormuz, according to France 24.
