Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya told Qatari station Al-Araby that the Israeli election will not change anything for the Palestinians and that “our people have suffered at the hands of all Israeli parties”, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP), in a text republished by the South China Morning Post.

He said Hamas refuses to allow the blood, suffering and cause of the Palestinian people to serve as fuel for Israeli elections. The election in Israel is set for October 27.
