Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy announced the capture of a Remus 600, a US-made unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) the force called “terrorist”, in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Mehr News Agency.

According to the force, it is the second vehicle of its kind seized in September 2026: on September 8, 2026 it had announced the interception and capture of another advanced US unmanned underwater vehicle near the entrance to the strait. Xinhua also reported the IRGC announcement, made on Sunday, September 27, 2026, about the capture of another “advanced smart” unmanned underwater vehicle belonging to the US Army in the Strait of Hormuz.
