The Pentagon's watchdog declined a bipartisan request by nine senators to open an investigation into the slowdown of Starshield, SpaceX's military-grade system, in Ukraine, according to a letter obtained by CNN.

Inspector General Platte Moring said in a letter dated Tuesday that the senators' questions about the slowdowns and their impacts should be directed to the US Air Force and Space Force. The request, led by Republican Thom Tillis and Democrat Jeanne Shaheen, also covered commercial-grade Starlink and asked for an “immediate investigation” into the disruptions to both systems in Ukraine.
