The president of Brazil's Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Kassio Nunes Marques, and his deputy, André Mendonça, are seeking to distance themselves from Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) after the release of a letter in which the defeated candidate questions the result of the 2026 presidential election, according to Brasil 247.
A few hours after the letter was released, on Wednesday night (28), Nunes Marques published a note defending the integrity of the electoral process without naming Flávio Bolsonaro. Jurist Lenio Streck says the letter may amount to falsification of a public seal and that it must be established “whether the emblem was used to give an official appearance to a private statement and who was responsible for that use,” according to CartaCapital.
