Hanwha Philly Shipyard secured a US$269 million contract to build a Landing Ship Medium (LSM) for the US Navy and Marine Corps, according to gCaptain.

The deal marks a milestone in the South Korean company's push into US naval shipbuilding. Construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, with the program's first vessel scheduled for delivery in 2030.
