Nigeria's minister of health and social welfare, Muhammad Pate, confirmed that the country's Ebola index patient has been evacuated to Switzerland, according to AllAfrica.

The patient is a 42-year-old Ugandan-born woman who lives in Abuja and returned from Uganda on 3 October, in Nigeria's first Ebola case in more than a decade. The evacuation came six days after the country confirmed the case.
