The Washington Post condemned the beating of its photographer Heidi Levine and the theft of her equipment by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank and urged a thorough investigation and follow-through from the authorities, in a statement by executive editor Matt Murray cited by RT.

The Committee to Protect Journalists documented at least 16 incidents involving 35 Palestinian, Israeli and international journalists in the first eight months of 2026 alone, figures already above those recorded in 2025.
